Admissions Process

2026-2027 School Year 

Applications for the current 2026-2027 school year are still being accepted.

To join our Toddler Program for the 2026-2027 School Year, a child must be at least 15 months old by August 31, 2026. To join our Preschool Program, a child must be between the ages of 2 years 9 months and 5 years by August 31, 2026. Please begin the first step of our admissions process by filling out the inquiry form.  

2027-2028 School Year
We are also happy to answer questions about the 2027-2028 school year for interested families. Click here to submit an inquiry and select 2027-2028 from the drop down field that says "desired enrollment term or school year." Tours begin in late September, and applications open shortly thereafter. Please contact us for more information.

Boston Pre-K (formerly Universal PreKindergarten - UPK)

Spaces are awarded based on Boston residency. To learn more about BPK, start on the Boston Public Schools website, here.

Schedule Options

Whether you need full-day or part-day coverage, your child will be known and supported by the same teachers throughout their day.

  • For our Toddler Program, you may choose 2-day, 3-day, or 5-days a week. 

  • Our Preschool Program is a 5-day program.

  • The core schedule begins at 8:50 am and ends at 1:00 pm. Extended Hour options include: Early Morning arrival from 8:00 am, Extended Day until 3:00 pm, and Stay & Play until 5:30 pm for all children beginning at 15 months.

Thanks to a grant from CJP (Combined Jewish Philanthropies), FJECC year-round enrollment options will be available for all students, beginning at 15 months in the summer of 2027! Contact us for more information.

We suggest that you view the tuition and extended day page to understand the options and fees. Current fees are for the 2026-2027 school year. Final tuition for the upcoming school year is determined each February by our Board of Directors.

  • Applications are always open. We welcome you to schedule an in-person tour at any time.

  • Once your application is received (with a $75 application fee), we will confirm the availability of a space for your child in our program, with an invoice for a $500 deposit, due within ten days of receipt. Welcome to the FJECC community!

  • February 1: Enrollment Contract emailed to families.

  • February 1-29: Financial Assistance applications open. (Due by March 1).

  • March 31: Financial Assistance awards emailed to families.

  • April 15: Enrollment contracts and first payment due.

School Tours

In-person tours are encouraged, but certainly not required! Seeing FJECC in action, meeting our teaching and administrative teams, and getting the vibe of the school are great ways to determine if we are a good fit for your child and family.  Children are not interviewed for admission.

Tours run about 30 - 45 minutes and can be tailored to your needs. Tour inquiries are available through the application inquiry form below.

The FJECC reserves the right to balance the classroom with respect to gender, age, and developmental level to ensure the highest level of education for every child accepted. Other factors that will determine placement of students include Boston Pre-K eligibility (for City of Boston residents only) and consideration of priority ratings, which are applied to each application.
