SCHOOL CANCELLATION
In the matter of weather-related school cancellations and delays, we generally follow the Brookline Public Schools’ policy. If the Brookline Public School system has canceled school, the FJECC will be closed as well. We will notify you via email if school will be closed for the day. If for some reason we depart from this procedure, you will be notified via email as well. If Brookline Public Schools is delayed by one hour, our 8:00 am early morning program will be canceled. If Brookline Schools is delayed by two hours, FJECC will open at 10:00 am. Nevertheless, because of our need to maintain a staggered drop-off procedure, these times may vary slightly. You will be notified in advance of your child’s arrival time when such delays occur. The superintendent of the Brookline school system is in contact with the appropriate civic authorities, who are best qualified to determine whether the safety of children, parents, and staff are at risk.
EXTENDED DAY CANCELLATION
If the weather worsens throughout the morning, we may be forced to cancel the Extended Day program. In this case, you will be notified to pick up your child at an earlier time. We realize that an unexpected school closing creates a difficult situation for working parents. We will make every effort to remain open unless we feel safety is an issue.
