Goals

Summer camp is a special, meaningful space for children and a deep need for families in our community. By hosting summer camp, Temple Israel will help provide a loving, joyful space where children can grow and connect more deeply with Judaism and the Temple Israel community beyond FJECC. In Judaism, learning is not limited to a formal classroom - through activities, games and creative play, our campers will learn and experience important Jewish values and ideas.  We seek to create a summer camp program that coordinates with and complements the FJECC program and schedule, and provides parents and caregivers who are part of our greater Temple Israel community an affordable, full day of summertime childcare.

Program Description

Our Camp Directors will craft a fun weekly theme which will include a special weekly curriculum as we follow our daily routine. These curricula will encourage independence and growth while providing caring and scaffolded instruction based on social/emotional learning best practices. Each week children will explore different activities like art, music, nature exploration, science experiments, literature, cooking, and so much more. We will also make sure to have lots of rainy day plans for fun indoor play.

The Temple Israel Summer camp will run ten weeks - the eight traditional weeks of summer camp and two gap weeks (one before and one after). Our hours will be 9-5 with an optional 8:30 drop off (additional $50 per week). Tuition per week is set at $500, parents are free to pick up their children early, but we are not prorating the days/ weeks based on attendance.
