Schedule Options

FJECC is structured as a morning program, with optional add-on hours for all ages to allow families to create a schedule that works best for their specific needs. Whether you need full-day or part-day coverage, your child will be known and supported by the same teachers throughout their day. For our Toddler Program, you may choose 2-day, 3-day, or 5-days a week.  Our Preschool Program is a 5-day program.
The core schedule begins at 8:50 am and ends at 1:00 pm, with the possibility of adding Early Morning arrival from 8:00 am, Extended Day until 3:00 pm, and Stay & Play until 5:30 pm for children in both the Toddler and Preschool programs.

When you fill out the application, we ask that you choose the schedule that you expect to need for your child in the fall. This is to help us forecast our staffing needs for the coming school year. You will have the opportunity to review your choices before your contract is sent in February.

We suggest that you view the tuition and extended day page to understand the options and fees.

Application Priority and Fees

Applications are accepted at any time from September 15 to January 15 for the first round of admissions.  Applications will be reviewed and acceptances offered according to the following on priority rankings:

  • Currently enrolled student

  • Sibling of a member’s currently enrolled student

  • Temple member

  • Sibling of currently enrolled non-member student

  • Child of current FJECC or Temple Israel staff member

  • Prospective temple member

  • Community members

After the first round of applications, we will continue to accept applications on a rolling basis.

A completed application must include a $575 fee. This fee includes a $75 application fee and a $500 non-refundable deposit, which goes towards tuition.  If we are unable to offer a space to your child, the $500 deposit will be returned.

Acceptances are based on the priority rankings as outlined above.  In the event that applicants with identical priority status submit an application and we have a waitlist for a particular class, we will look at the date of application submission to determine admission.

Touring FJECC

In-person tours are encouraged, but certainly not required! Seeing FJECC in action, meeting our teaching and administrative teams, and getting the vibe of the school are great ways to determine if we are a good fit for your child and family.  Children are not interviewed for admission.

Our tour days are Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 9:30 am and run 45 minutes. Other days available upon request. Typically, children do not attend tours, as it can be distracting for parents.  However, we are flexible if needed – please contact our Director of Admissions, Jenny Gamson at (617) 739-6455 or jgamson@tisrael.org.

Tour inquiries are available through the application inquiry form below.

Still have questions?  Check out our FAQ page or contact our Director of Admissions, Jenny Gamson at (617) 739-6455 or jgamson@tisrael.org.

The FJECC reserves the right to balance the classroom with respect to gender, age, and developmental level to ensure the highest level of education for every child accepted. Other factors that will determine placement of students include Universal PreK eligibility (for City of Boston residents only) and consideration of priority ratings, which are applied to each application.
